demogoguery for dims

Thomas Sowell:

Only an American defeat in Iraq can ensure the Democrats' political victory next year. Their only strategy is to sabotage the chances for a military victory in Iraq without being held responsible for a defeat.

That is the corner that they have painted themselves into with their demagoguery that even their own supporters see through.

Party doctrine

I wonder which political party Jay Nordlinger is referring to?

What does it take to awaken the world at large to the nature of this enemy? A lot, apparently. Many people in this country are convinced that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Al Gonzales are the enemy. One should be so lucky.

Gore-bot II

Robert Tracinski catches on to Gore hysteria:

This, then, is the essence of Gore's complaint: there are too many humans and they are too well off.

Why do Democrats crave defeat?

The title speaks for itself:

Please explain something to me. What is this obsession that liberals have with seeing America destroyed?

Why are they so intent on humiliating their fellow citizens? And why don't they have at least some modicum of pride about the greatest nation the world has ever produced?

Dims

Powerline has a quote for all Americans:

If the Democrats were willing to fight as hard for victory as they are fighting for defeat, the country would be much better off.

Democrats and traitors - hard to tell a difference

The Iraq surrender and pork bill passed today - the two Alabama dims - Cramer and Davis - also voted with the enemy. What a surprise. Blue Dogs, my ass!

The always reliable, unbiased news

Iraqpundit discusses the possible weaknesses in a probably fabricated WaPo story:

Not that the Post story is without its potential value. If Moktada ever does come near a U.S. checkpoint, he can always show the American soldiers a copy of the Post, just so they'll know how powerful a man he really is.

Democrats and "slow bleed"

Congressman Roy Blunt:

...........Does anyone think that demoting our military generals to administrative assistants represents our best chance to achieve our goals in the region? Does anyone believe our commanders in the field have at their disposal too much authority and too much flexibility to get the job done?
Of course, a plan to fail may be precisely what the "Out of Iraq" crowd hopes to achieve. In fact, it fits nicely within their larger strategy to certify defeat, assert congressional control over something Congress is ill-suited to handle, and execute a precipitous withdrawal of on-the-ground support -- as early as three months from now, by their own accounts............

Defeatocrats

Washington Times on target again:

As the ill-named "surge" of U.S. troops to Baghdad goes forward, congressional Democrats -- more heavily than ever invested in failure -- are pressing ahead with their political campaign to ensure that Gen. David Petraeus's plans to take the war to the terrorists are never implemented

Flames

John Gibson explains the various degrees of hatefulness this week:

Who's worse? Well, it's way worse to wish a person dead than to call a person a name. Plus, liberals do think you have to go to rehab if you say the "f" word, and Maher has nothing to back up the claim that millions of people die because Cheney is alive.

The Gore-bot

Mark Steyn:

Stop me if you've heard this before, but the other day the Rev. Al Gore declared that "climate change" was "the most important moral, ethical, spiritual and political issue humankind has ever faced.'' Ever. I believe that was the same day it was revealed that George W. Bush's ranch in Texas is more environmentally friendly than the Gore mansion in Tennessee. According to the Nashville Electric Service, the Eco-Messiah's house uses 20 times more electricity than the average American home. The average household consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours. In 2006, the Gores wolfed down nearly 221,000 kilowatt-hours.............

The Gore monster is , of course, a democrat

Opinion Journal and Bob Krumm:

....So, let's sum this up: Here we have a major American politician who is calling for policies that would impose huge costs on society but appears to be profiting handsomely himself; who is leading an extravagant lifestyle while demanding sacrifices from ordinary people; and who is calling on the media to suppress the views of those with whom he disagrees, while at the same time urging more government regulation in the name of "fairness" to his partisan and ideological allies.......
