Drive by media

James Lewis understands the mob:

The Big Media are a mob. That should be Politics 101. They are a tiny, unchecked power elite, locked into life-long careers in the remnant of a crumbling monopoly over America's national conversation. Like other unaccountable elites, they are monumentally fickle, self-indulgent, snobbish, vain, vulgar, entitled, incestuous, arrogant, ignorant, unprincipled, hysterical, and demagogic. They sound like a unified chorus for the same reasons that street mobs run as a group -- because by and large, they don't dare to stand alone. Media snobs are always looking over their shoulders to see if they are still singing from the same hymnal as The New York Times. The US media have been one-sidedly Leftist, while piously proclaiming their devotion to impartiality. Thus, they are also institutionally mendacious. Telling the truth is hardly their job. They're just not qualified.

Desire for failure

Thomas Sowell observes the left and the democrats:

Progress in general seems to hold little interest for people who call themselves "progressives." What arouses them are denunciations of social failures and accusations of wrong-doing.

Democrats retreat from both sides

Tony Blankley explains the democrats:

Gen. Patton also observed that "Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser." That is as true today as it was six decades ago. (This is the great misreading of the American public by the current Democratic Party. We Americans are only sentimental about dogs — we have three in our family — not about human losers. We love kick-ass football players — unless they hurt a dog, and then we righteously send them to hell, where they belong).

The public must not be permitted to forget these cowardly public statements by the Democrats. It is the job of the Republicans this fall and winter to remorselessly and repeatedly remind the public of what the Democrats were saying this spring. In that disgrace lies the potential for a well-deserved Democratic Party defeat in November 2008.

Democrats!

Joseph Farah discusses the Pelosi-Reid party:

Imagine political power meaning so much to you that you would sell out your own country -- perhaps even the very lives of your children and grandchildren -- to retain it, consolidate it, expand it.

That's what it is all about with the party of Pelosi and Reid. It's not about ideology. It's not that they like Al Qaeda or Islamofascism. But they do have enough disrespect for their nation that they would tolerate -- even welcome -- more death, more carnage, more crisis, more Sept. 11s.

Progressive left = Democrats

Frank Salvato sums up the left neatly:

That the Progressive Left American Fifth Column would: attempt to rewrite American history by denying the consequences of a premature Vietnam disengagement to the point of forcing our nation to facilitate the Islamofascist genocide of the Iraqi people; deny our government and military the necessary tools to engage our enemy, offensively, in the global war against Islamofascist aggression; create a shadow set of laws that usurps the authority of the U.S. Constitution; and deny our intelligence and law enforcement communities the ability to aggressively pursue the protection of the American people from harm.
