Contempt for Congress

Don Surber on Pelosi-Reid:

Contempt of Congress is a crime? If so, then 250 million Americans must be criminals, because there is a deep and abiding contempt for the job the Democratic Congress has done in its 6 months in power.

Democrats have not done a damned thing except announce investigation upon investigation of the Bush administration in the Democratic quest for that impeachment needle in the haystack.

Religion of hypocrisy

Bill Steigerwald capsules the new religion accurately:

Live Earth also further exposed to the whole globe the hypocrisy and immorality of the environmentalists' war against fossil fuels, which effectively calls for a halt in the spread of modern civilization when two-thirds of the world's humans are still living like it's 1200.

Random thoughts?

Thomas Sowell on race and politics:

"Nations are like men in that they prefer a fuss made in their behalf to real services rendered." Although de Tocqueville said this back in the 19th century, it may help explain why the black vote today is so overwhelmingly for the Democrats, when Democrats have done so little good for blacks and so much harm.

More mass hysteria?

Science waffles?:

..........Interested readers should also take a good look at the graph in the SCIENCE article, which superficially seems to support the global warming story. But notice the vertical bars at the right side of the graph, which show the "90 percent confidence interval" --- the chances that the graph line is actually where it is shown to be. Turns out that the orange confidence interval includes all the points on the graph between 1930 and 2000... meaning that we can't tell that any of those points are different from each other with even 90 percent certainty. And that's not even including the big Black Hole of water vapor.

Now "90 percent confidence" might sound like a lot. But in standard scientific publications a 95 percent confidence level is the minimum acceptable level. The reason is that one can just run a study 10 times, and achieve a 90 percent confidence level purely by chance. So we normally demand a higher standard of proof --- at least 95 percent confidence. The data in the SCIENCE graph therefore does not meet routine scientific standards............

Racism unveiled

John Hawkins sums up the Democrat's attitude toward the "people of color" community:

If you look back through American history and find a black American being enslaved, lynched, railroaded, or persecuted, 99 times out of a hundred, you'll find a Democrat behind it. The hated and feared KKK? Throughout most of its history, it was little more than a hooded, thuggish arm of the Democratic Party.

But in the 1960s, when the Democrats’ overt racism became untenable, they switched to a strategy they've used all the way until the present day. Instead of persecuting black Americans because they thought they were inferior, they decided to "help" black Americans because they thought they were inferior. Unfortunately for black Americans, the "help" they get from the Democratic Party is almost always perversely damaging.

Global hysteria

This guy understands the the Gore worshipers:

So now "the environment," as used by these zealots, no longer means "the environs of mankind, which make mankind's life healthier and more enjoyable" -- presumably including plenty of clean drinking water. Rather, the term has been skinned and cured, turned into sheep's clothing and draped over a lurking wolf. The term is now used to mean "pristine nature, a beautiful thing which is endangered by the ongoing prosperity and procreation of human beings, a foul invasive enemy whose numbers need to be reduced through thirst and other means to protect each weed and bug."
